Stopover (Ongoing)

Project (2024-08-20)
Strawberry is launching a new hotel chain, for the first time in 30 years.

The chain is aimed at car travelers, sports teams and people who need accommodation temporarily or for a longer period. The idea is that Stopover will fill a gap that currently exists in the Nordic hotel market.

Mod has developed the concept and interior-ID for the pilot building in Falkenberg. Within the next 10 years, it is planned to add at least 20 hotels to the new hotel chain.

"The last person to have an idea for roadside hotels was Henry Ford, and that was 77 years ago. During these years, society has changed fundamentally, but one thing has not changed, and that is people's need to travel. Inspired by Henry Ford, we have therefore chosen to give roadside hotels a contemporary "comeback", and that through our brand new hotel chain Stopover. A hotel chain that is inspired by history, but adapted to a new time, new infrastructure, new technology and new demands from people who travel by car," says Petter Stordalen.

“With Stopover we try to challenge the image that stops along the way are something boring and necessary, and instead see it as an opportunity to recharge and enjoy.” Petter Stordalen.
